Q. At what age can someone start taking music lessons?
A. Private Music Lessons can start at age 5-6. Students will progress faster if they know their alphabet up to the letter G, numbers and basic addition to 4.
Q. Can adults take music lessons?
A. Of course! No one is too old to start learning music! I have adult method books that get you playing real songs quickly.
Q. I know I want to take music lessons, but when can I start?
A. Register here and you will be notified by email if a lesson slot opens up. You will have the opportunity to book the slot right from this website. There is no deadline for registration, your program will begine when you are ready.
Q. How do I register?
A. Fill out my Contact Form. I will send you a link to register yourself in the backstage area of this website. There, you will see availalbe days and times, have access to student posts and a whole host of other goodies like logging in your practice time and tracking your repertoire and performance dates.
Q. In the past we’ve had to take the summers off from music lessons and I’m concerned that it has been detrimental to mine and my child’s learning. Do lessons continue through the summer?
A. Once you have your log in name and password, feel free to check here for dates I am available in the summer book your lesson through the website. No ned to call or text, the system does it all for you. It is always a good idea for a refresher during the summer months!
Q. Can I purchase music lessons one at a time?
A. Yes. Book one lesson and pay for one lesson, or book three, or book the whole year. Just be mindful of my studio policy you can review here .
Q. Are music lessons offered on weekends?
A. Yes, my calendar of avialable lesson spots can be viewed once you have access to my backstage. Fill out my Contact Form and I will let you know.
Q. Do you have a set curriculum that you use for every student?
A. No, each lesson is customized and tailored to the student’s skill level, learning style, and musical goals.
Q. Where are the lessons taught?
A. Beginner piano is taught from a friendly warm atmosphere from inside my home. Vocal lessons can either be taught from my home or the garage studio which is soundproofed and equiped with audio equipment. This is typically used for advanced vocal students when perfecting microphone tecnique.
Q. How long are lessons?
A. Music lessons are available in class times of thirty (30) minutes and sixty (60) minutes. Typically beginner piano and voice is 30 minutes long. Adult Piano & Vocal lessons work best at 60 minutes on a bi-weekly basis.
Q. Do you hold recitals and are they mandatory or optional?
A. I host both summer and winter recitals, which are optional. Check out the gallery for photos of past recitals. I love to hold them at Rotary House so the seniors may enjoy the little ones play!
Q. Do you teach any else besides piano and voice?
A. I can teach percussion, beginner flute, chords on a guitar and the kazoo! Just ask me what you are after and if I cannot teach it I will help you find someone who does ☺
