About Ms Dianne
Dianne Paré (Perry) has been teaching music in Fort McMurray at her studio since 2012. She is actively involved with Keyano Theatre Company, both as a performer and music director, and was employed as a music teacher at Keyano Conservatory before it closed in 2016. She holds regular recitals for her students and has worked with actors, singers and dancers for whatever goal they may have, both young and old. She is not only a singing teacher, but a vocal coach for lecturers and public speakers. She is registered with The Royal Conservatory of Music and holds an Elementary Specialist designation for piano.
Dianne started playing piano at a young age, and throughout the years learned to play many other instruments. Percussion became her choice for performance in the Canadian Forces School of Music, working her way to becoming the Drum Major (Sgt) of The Loyal Edmonton Regiment (4PPCLI) Band, resurrecting the Black Light Precision Stick Drill Drum Line that still performs today. She was awarded the Canadian Decoration (Medal) and Base Commanders Award.
After retiring from the CAF in 1996, Dianne recorded two albums. "Dancin' to the Radio" was released in 2000 and was followed up by "A Simple Country Girl" in 2006 under the stage name "Didi Perry". The single "Are You Foolin' Me Cowboy" from her second album, stayed at #1 on the European Country Music Charts for 6 weeks in 2006.
In 2013 Dianne was hired at Keyano College Conservatory, teaching piano and voice and filling the role of assistant choir director. Keyano Theatre Company also hired her as the Assistant Music Director for the production of "Les Miserables" and she enjoyed playing percussion, flute and piano in the pit band during the production in 2013/2014. Dianne was very fortunate to be offered the position of Music Director for the kids summer intensive "Drama Force" in 2014 and has become a founding member of that program in Fort McMurray. Drama Force has produced "Alladin Jr"(2014) "The Little Mermaid" (2015), "Jungle Book" (2016) and "Peter Pan" (2017) "Bugsy Malone" (2018) and "Frozen Jr."(2019) . She was music director for "A Christmas Carol" (2014) and Band Leader and Assistant Music Director for "Cabaret" in 2015 for Keyano Theatre Company.
Dianne also Performs regularly on stage and in film too. She was cast in Keyano Theatre's productions of "The Vagina Monologues"(2014) "Into the Woods" (2016) "Steel Magnolias" (2016) "Footloose" (2017) "The Drowsy Chaperone" (2018), Sexy Laundry" (2018) and "Mamma Mia" (2019), and soon to be released "Lend Me a Tenor". Her film credits include our very own "Nerdvana The Series", a short film called "Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?" and a web series called "The Odd Folks". She has performed as a musician with the CAF, (Nova Scotia Tattoo, Australian Bicentennial Tattoo, Canadian Tattoo, Public concerts and venues too many to list here) and with other theatre productions in Edmonton. Dianne is the founder of "That A Capella Group", a local singing quartet that performs for charities and other events around Fort McMurray. She also created the Fort McMurray Christmas Carollers for those folks who love to sing Christmas Carols and like to do it in costume! They can be seen at the new airport at Christmas time carolling in full 18th century costume for arriving passengers and visitors of our region, and at a few places around town who welcome Santa before his big day!
